🌸Mothers Day Paint and Sip🌸
There is so much work that goes unnoticed in motherhood. Mothers are expected to carry the weight of the family, often going unnoticed by their husbands. Afterall, who plans and creates the magic behind holidays, even mothersday.
Anna Jarvis noticed this. She watched as her mother worked and worked, with little to no acknowledgment. And it broke her heart. After the death of her own mother she decided things needed to change. She pushed hard for a day to celebrate all the unnoticed labour that went into being a mother. Choosing the second Sunday of May, as it was closest to her mothers death.
However, she would later renounce this day. Fighting to stop the very holiday she created.
Join us Saturday May 9th, the anniversary of her mothers death, as we learn more about how mothers day came to be.
